My Final Thoughts

Now that the course is just about finished I wanted to reflect on the course as a whole.

When I began this course I did not know what to expect.  I am not a TL and have never spent a day working in the library as a TL.  In completing this course I have developed a better respect for the roles of a TL.  I was shocked by all of the organizational tools and methods that a TL needs to be knowledgeable about.  This course opened my eyes to organizational tools/methods such as MARC records, CIP, etc.  Not only did I learn how they worked, but I was forced to practice using these tools/methods.  In the process, I created my own digital library which I hope to use with my SS11 and History 12 students in the near future.

By completing this course I feel like I have a better idea of how the library operates.  As a result, I could one day switch over and become an effective TL within my own school library.

I'd like to thank my colleagues (students and professors) for making this course so enjoyable.  Because of you, I was challenged to not only learn new concepts, but also put them into action.  Thank you for a great semester!
